Language Extensions and Precompilers.

Abstract

The paper considers some of the problems encountered in using nonstandard data types not provided by the programming language in programs written in high-level programming languages. A solution to these problems is proposed (a 'precompiler') and the desirable characteristics of a precompiler are examined.
