Abstract

TEMS, SCHEDULING, TIME SHARING, OPERATIONWORLDWIDE MILITARY COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEM, MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS, PERFORMANCE EVALUATION, INFORMATION SYSTEMSThe paper describes the currently obtainable measurements that can be used to analyze the performance of Honeywell Information System (HIS Series 6000 computer systems). The measurements include those describing the operation of application programs; these are available from standard system accounting data. Also identified are the measurements describing operating system response, use of system resources, and specific detailed program behavior. These are presented in descriptions of various software monitors developed within HIS. Management procedures for obtaining economic and efficient performance of a WWMCCS ADPE installation is also described herein. (Author Modified Abstract)
