Project Themis. Metal Deformation Processing.

Abstract

The objectives of the program were: To develop computer programs that will yield realistic solutions to metalworking equations by adequately accounting for work hardening, strain rate, thermoplasticity, friction, geometry, size effects and anisotropy; To determine the materials parameters in the metalworking equations; To interpret the material behavior during metalworking; To evaluate in detail the microstructure through all stages of metalworking; To evaluate friction and lubrication in metalworking.
