Random Vibrations of Distributed Systems,
Abstract
Forced vibrations of distributed elastic systems during random loading, as a rule, are studied in linear statement. In nonlinear problems the elastic system is usually replaced by a system with a low number of degrees of freedom. But idealization of the load as a random function is advisable when it is of an irregular, broad-band nature. In this case the large number of forced forms of vibrations does not permit hope for reliability of such an approximation. The report considers nonlinear vibrations of a plate (physical nonlinearity of the material is considered), without reducing it to a system with a finite number of degrees of freedom. The method may also be used to study random vibrations of elastic systems with other nonlinearities.
