A Method for Locating Shock Waves and Contours of Flow Variables in Finite Difference Flow Fields.

Abstract

A computer program, CONSHOC, has been developed which, from the results of finite difference flow fields, produces contours of constant static pressure, density, fluid velocity relative to a fixed coordinate system, and local Mach numbers of the fluid relative to a moving coordinate system. Included is an option to locate the shock waves present in the flow field and superimpose them on the pressure plot. The major part of the input data is produced by slightly modified BLAST code computations. The method is general, however, and may be used on any finite difference flow field. (Author)
