New Product Review: Technical and Economic Aspects of New Industrial Radiographic Imaging Papers.
Abstract
NG 10 SECOND PROCESSING WITH A PORTABLE PROCESSOR, BUT EXHIBITING GRADUAL DETERIORATION OF IMAGE; THE OTHER PROVIDES PERMANENT IMAGE RETENTION, BUT REQUIRES CONVENTIONAL X-RAY FILM PROCESSING METHODS. Both types of paper provide direct, negative images on a single emulsion, and are viewed under reflected light. Special fluorescent imaging screens are normally used with both papers. The papers were tested using a limited range of radiographic exposure techniques. Sensitivity and resolution of the papers did not equal that of conventional film, although, image quality was entirely satisfactory for many inspection applications. The principal advantage of these papers appears to be their low cost making them quite attractive for use in high production radiographic operations. (Author Modified Abstract)
