Simulation Research to Develop Objective Meteorological Prediction Capability. Volume II.

Abstract

The report is the second volume of a two volume report containing results of investigations directed toward improving objective meteorological prediction capability. Volume 2 contains the results of predictions of winds, temperatures, and vapor pressures based on modified exchange coefficients for momentum. Results indicate significant improvement in prediction capability of wind speeds at 8-m height by use of a modified exchange coefficient accompanied by strong coupling of the surface winds to the ground. Included in the report also are solutions for various miscellaneous studies not included in previous contract reports. (Author)
