Some Experiments on the Dynamic Plastic Behavior of Shell Intersections,

Abstract

An experimental investigation into the dynamic plastic behavior of some metal shell intersections is reported herein. The models consist of a cylindrical nozzle intersecting a hemispherical shell which is subjected to a uniformly distributed internal impulsive velocity field. The magnitude of the initial kinetic energy of the dynamic load is sufficient to cause inelastic behavior and small permanent displacements. (Author)
