Segmented High Average Power Ho(3 +):YLF Laser

Abstract

The program was carried out to investigate the possibility of using: FEP Teflon(R) as a transparent solder to hold the laser disk; and, YLF doped with Ho(3+) in a sliced laser configuration to obtain high average power at two micrometers. The results are summarized. The design of the disk laser and fabrication and testing of the laser are presented.
