Scheduling a Single Facility under Constant Demand and Fixed Production Rate.

Abstract

The optimal production schedule is derived for a single machine producing one product which is demanded at a constant rate, r, but is produced at a higher rate, p. The optimal schedule is derived assuming instantaneous production or uniform production, with or without setup cost; and assuming linear holding and backorder cost. (Author)
