Effect of Initial Turbulence on the Flow around Bodies and on Their Aerodynamic Characteristics,

Abstract

It has seemed advantageous to investigate the effect of turbulence intensity on the aerodynamics of bodies of different shapes, to define more accurately the methods of measuring the initial turbulence, as well as to seek effective means for measuring within wide limits the value of the turbulence intensity for a flow in the test section of a wind tunnel and means for keeping it at the needed level in the entire model area.
