Simulation System Programming Design Manual.

Abstract

The manual as revised treats the systems engineering, computer system analysis, and computer programming problems of real-time simulation system design. The topics considered are applicable to system simulation for design, analysis, or training purposes. Emphasis is initially directed toward the process of defining simulator system requirements for real-time applications. The technical discussion covers the classical systems engineering approach to system synthesis techniques and concepts applicable to a broad range of simulation problems. System analysis, sizing of real-time digital computer systems, mathematical models, equations, dynamics (kinematic and empirical), input-output program design, control program design and program writing are among the technical areas covered. Project management and control are treated as a subtopic of the total System Engineering Process (SEP). The analytical techniques presented in the manual are general and are applicable to a broad spectrum of training device problems. (Author)
