Ghetto and Campus - Twentieth Century Battlegrounds

Abstract

The purpose of the essay is to assess the capabilities of military forces to combat civil disorders in the United States. An analysis of the relative effectiveness of the National Guard and Regular U. S. Army forces in recent major civil disturbances is used to assess the strengths and weaknesses of these forces to preserve peace on the campus and in the strife ridden inner cities of the nation.
