Okinawa: An Essential Base.

Abstract

The primary objective is to determine whether or not Okinawa is essential to United States security. The geographical and political aspects of American tenure there are discussed and possible alternative locations are examined. Data were obtained from the literature and personal observations of the author while in Okinawa for a short time in 1965. (Modified author abstract)
