Abstract

The purpose of the essay is to describe the events of the North Vietnamese offensive against the 3rd ARVN Division in Quang Tri Province during the period of 30 March to 1 May 1972. The essay begins with a discussion of the intelligence information that led up to the beginning of the offensive and the conclusions that could be drawn from the analysis. It will outline the circumstances of the daily execution of action and orders that led up to the withdrawal of the 3rd ARVN Division and its attatched units from Quang Tri Province.
