On Mathematical Formulations for Dynamic Optimization of Vehicular Structures.

Abstract

Mathematical models for the dynamics of vehicular systems usually consist of large systems of coupled differential equations. During the usual optimization process these systems must be repetitively solved thereby involving massive computation. The present work is aimed at developing alternatives by employing methods of functional analysis. Bounds are developed for the dynamic solutions in terms of the problem data and the largest real part of the eigenvalues or spectral radius. Optimization schemes will be built around these bounds in later reports. (Author)
