R and D Design Evaluation Report. Expendable Dew Point Hygrometer.

Abstract

Redesign goals of the expendable dew point hygrometer are as follows: Introduce simplifications, where feasible, to all components of the expendable dew point hygrometer. The application of integrated circuitry for this purpose shall be examined; The 'checkout' procedure required in the field shall be critically examined such that the operation can be made more efficiently and quickly. An investigation of the dies and molds that can be used to fabricate a more uniform and more reproducible optical head and mirror assembly; An examination of molds available for fabricating the hygrometer case; and The suitability and desirability of a water activated battery to replace the expensive silver zinc battery previously used with experimental models.
