Kinetic Model of the CF3I Photodissociation Laser.

Abstract

A model is developed to describe the reaction kinetics of the CF3I flash photolysis iodine laser. All chemical reactions and relaxation processes which are important in the pressure and temperature regimes of laser amplifiers are described. The model was used to compute the laser energy inversion as a function of time. The effects of pumping rate, diluent gas concentration, and temperature on the magnitude and life time of the inversion were studied. (Modified author abstract)
