United States Reaction to the 1970 Jordanian Crisis.

Abstract

The study covers the period January through September 1970, and concentrates on events in Jordan and US-USSR military diplomatic moves during September 1970. Research consisted of examination of daily news accounts and periodicals for the period of time involved. The action taken by the United States in an effort to preclude broadening the scope of the conflict in the Middle East was the only feasible course to pursue. (Author)
