TV News-Right or Wrong.

Abstract

The basic question concerns current controversies in the objectiveness and quality of television news. The paper traces the past theories of mass communications which have led to the present day concept of 'social responsibility'. It examines six areas: economics, the year 1971, objectivity verses subjectivity, time allotted for new programs, broadcast specialization, and improvements. From this examination, it is concluded that much can be done to improve the quality of television news programs. (Modified author abstract)
