Development of a Procedural Format for Decision-Making.

Abstract

The military executive is a decision-maker. This research focuses on the development of a tool the military executive can use to enhance his understanding of the decision-making process, and to improve his decision-making capability. An original procedural format for decision-making was developed. Selected literature on decision-making was reviewed, analyzed, and compared with the proposed procedural format. The findings indicated that experience in the exercise of judgment appeared to be the single most important aspect of decision-making.
