Another Lesson from Vietnam.

Abstract

There is a lesson to be learned from Vietnam--how to negotiate an end to insurgency conflicts. The President has charged the nation with the responsibility for peacekeeping in an era of negotiation. Because insurgency conflicts will occur frequently in an environment of detente among superpowers, we must be prepared to assist in the resolution of these conflicts by negotiation. The study examines the three Indochinese negotiations, those of Malaya and Algeria, and the nature of insurgency conflicts. (Modified author abstract)
