The State Adjutants General: The Selection Process.

Abstract

A detailed look is taken at the command and control structure of the National Guard as it pertains to the fifty-two Adjutants General. An analysis is given of the selection process of the Adjutants General within the prerequisites of the fifty-two applicable state laws. A review and analysis is made of the Adjutants General in a sequence of, what are they; how did they get appointed to the office; who are they; and what do they do. The answers to these questions are extracted for the fifty-two appropriate State Laws, current biographical sketches of the incumbent Adjutants General, and an informational questionnaire provided by the present fifty-two Adjutants General.
