The Control of Alcoholism in Combat Arms Units

Abstract

The paper addresses military alcoholism and what it portends for the Army. Data were gathered using a literature search, queries to established sources, and consultation with personnel knowledgeable in the field of alcohol abuse. The major effort in handling alcohol abuse is recommended at Division and lower unit levels using available personnel management tools and services. Some specific measures are outlined.
