Personnel Program Improvements for ARNG and Army Reserve Officers: A Review of Selected Personnel Recommendations from '(S) The Army Study of the Guard and Reserve Forces (U)'.

Abstract

A study is reported on whether six specific personnel recommendations for the National Guard and Reserve Forces are for acceptable at this time. A questionnaire survey of Reserve component officers indicated that the first three recommendations were acceptable by that group while the latter three were not. They favored considering all Reserve component officers for assignment in the ARNG and USAR; separating the political and military functions of the state Adjutant General or equivalent; and giving DA the authority concerning retention of all Reserve component officers.
