The Influence of Discharge Parameters on the Intensity of the 1850 A and 2537 A Mercury Resonance Lines,

Abstract

Using a vacuum scintillation spectrophotometer the authors investigate the influence of current strength, vapor pressure, and argon pressure on the intensity of the 1850 and 2537 A lines. The intensity of the 1850 A line increases linearly with current, while for the 2537 A line the authors observe noticeable deviations from linearity. The operating conditions of the fluorescent lamps correspond to the maximum intensities of both mercury resonance lines. (Author)
