Transport Theory of Penetration by Heavy Ions,

Abstract

In the report the authors consider the feasibility of a physically realistic Boltzmann-type transport theory for ion penetration of an amorphous target. The fundamental transport equation for the penetrating particles is derived. The Statistical details of the recoil atoms are frequently of vital importance; the transport equations are extended to include recoils. The approach includes, in principle, all of the Landau-Vavilov theories.
