Adaptation of the IITRI Soil Strain Gage for Dynamic Measurements on Long Cable Lengths and Single Coil Set Operation.

Abstract

The report describes the successful development of an electronics package and procedure which permits remote calibration and direct recording IITRI-type soil strain gages, eliminating the cumbersome dummy gage balance set normally required. The applicability of the system was proven in actual field testing on Project BACKFILL. (Author)
