Vacancy Migration and Spin Lattice Relaxation in NaF,

Abstract

The author reports preliminary results of measurements of spin lattice relaxation time (T1) of Na23 nucleus in NaF single crystals. The measurement of relaxation times was carried out on a phase coherent pulsed NMR spectrometer at a resonant frequency of 5.5 Mc/sec. The relaxation times were measured using the standard techniques: Picket 90 degrees pulse method for relaxation times longer than 1 sec and 180 degree-90 degree pulse sequence for shorter times.
