Method of Obtaining Alkyl Derivatives of Ferrocene,

Abstract

A method is known for the alkylation of ferrocene by tertiary haloid alkyls in the presence of AlCl3 in a solution of ethylene chloride. The yield of end products is 20-40%. For the purpose of improving the yield of end products, a method is proposed for obtaining alkyl derivatives of ferrocene. The catalyst used in this method is a mixture of equimolecular amounts of anhydrous aluminum chloride and lithium-aluminum hydride.
