On the Question of Calculating Fatigue Strength of Steels with Asymmetric Loading Cycles,

Abstract

An analysis of existing criteria for fatigue strength with asymmetrical loading cycles was conducted. It was shown that a universal criterion suitable for a description of the behavior of all materials is presently absent. Criteria of fatigue strength with a complex stressed state were analyzed and the possibility of their applicability for cases of the combination of a variable bend and biaxial static tension was shown. A criterion of fatigue strength which corresponds to the complex course of the experimental curves was proposed.
