Intermediate Subarctic Waters in the Northern Part of the Atlantic Ocean (Promezhutochnye Subarkticheskie Vody v Severnoi Chasti Atlanticheskogo Okeana),

Abstract

The basic characteristics of Subarctic Intermediate Waters in the North Atlantic are studied on the basis of IGY data. The existence of north and south variations of these waters, which differ in their thermal characteristics, is established. Ideas about the origin and distribution of these waters in the Pacific and Atlantic are presented. The differences in the hydrology of these waters in the Pacific and Atlantic, as well as originating causes of these differences, are discussed in this article. (Author)
