Method of Controlling the Quality of a Joint Obtained by Welding,

Abstract

A method for the control of the quality of a joint obtained by welding is described. It includes preparation of a sample for mechanical testing which has a welded joint, mounting of the sample in a test machine, placing a load on it, and preparing a thin section of the sample from the zone of the welded joint. It is characterized by the fact that for the purpose of increasing the quality of control a stress concentractor is created on the working sector and the sample is loaded up to its fracturing in the zone of the stress concentrator.
