The Penetration of a Fluid Surface by a Wedge

Abstract

The research project, which includes theoretical and experimental investigations on the problem of planing on the surface of water, is divided into two general groupings; an investigation of the fundamental nature of the hydrodynamic planing process, and a collection and organization of seaplane and flying-boat design data for the establishment of rational design methods and for comparison with theoretical results.
