Hazard Testing of Organic Peroxides - Gas Evolution.

Abstract

Experiments have been carried out to determine which organic peroxides should be shipped in containers equipped with a venting device which allows reduction of excess pressure developed within the container. For this investigation, an isothermal constant-volume system equipped to measure pressure increase as a function of time has been developed to study the pressure evolved over a number of commercial organic peroxides at 130F (maximum anticipated shipping temperature).
