Discrimination between the Binomial and Hypergeometric Models.

Abstract

Discrimination between two distributions has received consideration in the literature. In the report, emphasis is given to discrimination between the binomial and hypergeometric distributions on the basis of sample data. These two have not been considered before, although the binomial has been contrasted with the Poisson and the negative binomial. Decision rules and their characteristics are initiated and developed in this study. Both the one sample situation and the multiple sample problem are considered in detail. (Author)
