An Investigation of the Four-Probe Reflectometer.

Abstract

The theory of operation of the four-probe reflectometer is examined along with the types and sources of errors encountered in the determination of reflection characteristics of time-varying mismatches. Efforts to reduce error effects and equipment limitations are described in connection with the development of an operational X-band measurement system. Results are presented of experimental tests conducted to determine the accuracy of the system and its correlation with the slotted line method. Recommendations are given for improvements in the system and areas of investigation requiring future effort are suggested. (Author)
