Abstract

Volume 5 of an eleven volume report on personnel retention in the Navy and the Marine Corps contains the definitions of some commonly used technical terms and abbreviations in personnel management, and a description of each of the major analytical tools used by the Task Force, ranging from simple gathering ideas such as correspondence to sophisticated and computerized mathematical models for expressing effectiveness. Statistical analyses are made of continuance or reenlistment rates, officer and enlisted personnel operations, and cost effectiveness factors.
