Performance of the Cryptosteady-Flow Energy Separator

Abstract

Performance equations are developed for the cryptosteady-flow energy separator in its most general form and over the widest range of operating conditions considered so far, including bearing friction or other rotor torque, and unequal discharge pressures, peripheral velocities, flow losses, prerotation velocities, and discharge angles. Equations are also developed for the proportioning of rotor nozzles in accordance with performance specifications. Convenient performance and design charts are also presented.
