Interferometry in the Far UV: Photometric Aspects.

Abstract

The report points up the intensity problems associated with optical interferometry in the far ultraviolet. A specific system as used in the hook method of Roschdestvensky is treated, and results are given of hypothetical film darkening upon exposure to black body sources at temperatures from 10,000 - 50,000K. The example illustrates the marked superiority of proper reflective coatings for the far UV, over large increases of source temperature, with ordinary reflective coatings. (Author)
