Abstract

Semiannual rept. 3 Jul 72-3 Jan 73,Veit,Quentin F. ;Brodkowicz,John S. ;Hockett,Frank D. ;Johnson,John H. ;House,James L. ;DAAB07-72-C-0335DA-1-S-662071-A-4481-S-662071-A-44801ECOM0335-1-72(*power amplifiers, transistor amplifiers), ultrahigh frequency, broadband, radio equipment, reliability(electronics), design, power supplies, duplexersan/grc-103The report describes the effort expended to data on a program to develop a UHF broadband power amplifier. The distinguishing characteristics of the amplifier are an overall power gain of 10 dB, an output power of 250 watts CW, and a frequency range of 620 to 960 MHz. This report discusses the preliminary design analysis and the resulting necessary design goals to realize the amplifier design. In addition, the results of experimental component evaluation and feasibility studies are included. (Author)
