DC to DC Conversion for Improved Power Sources.

Abstract

;ECOM-4108DA-1-T-662705-A-0531-T-662705-A-05305(*dc to dc converters, *power supplies), voltage regulators, storage batteries, reliability(electronics)A system concept for improved power sources for surveillance and communications-electronic equipment is described. The proposed system consists of a high energy electrochemical power source in conjunction with an efficient solid state converter-regulator. Potential advantages over a multiple cell stack to provide a stabilized output voltage are presented. Power processor requirements and design consideration are discussed. Three cases representing different source voltage ranges are considered for a trade-off analysis leading to optimized designs and system configurations. (Author)
