Design of Quadripod Cover Layers for Rubble-Mound Breakwaters. Hydraulic Laboratory Investigation.

Abstract

The results of tests completed to determine the stability characteristics of concrete quadripods used for protective cover layers on rubble-mound breakwaters are presented in this report. A rubble-mound breakwater is defined as one constructed with a quarry-run stone, sand, or slag core, protected from wave action by one or more stone underlayers and a protective cover layer consisting of selected quarrystone or specially shaped concrete armor units.
