Fixed-Bed River Models.

Abstract

The paper explains the fundamental theoretical criteria upon which fixed-bed river models are designed and describes in detail the principles that have to be considered and applied in the design, construction and operation of fixed-bed river models. Specific fixed-bed river models, constructed at the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station, are described and discussed to show how the fundamental principles of the design, construction, and operation of river models have been applied.
