Kinetics of the Reaction OH(v=o) + O3 to HO2 + O2,

Abstract

The rate constant of the reaction OH(v=o) + O3 to HO2 + O2 of interest in stratosphere photochemistry was measured over the temperature range from 220 to 450K at total pressures between 2 and 5 torr using ultraviolet fluorescent scattering for the detection of OH radicals. An Arrhenius expression was obtained and the rate constant for the reaction HO2 + O3 to OH + 2O2 was inferred. (Modified author abstract)
