Selecting a Disk Atomizer for Straight-Through Dryers,

Abstract

The particle dispersion process in the region of the drying space is simulated. The Cook formula reflects with a sufficient degree of accuracy the nature of particles dispersion, but it does not consider the effect of the medium. The movement of the zone of maximal mist concentrations can be explained on the basis of the experimental data by the influence of the medium and the leading influence of large particles on small particles. Spray density measurements taken in individual experiments deviated insignificantly from average values. Thus the proposed method can be used to test new sprayer designs.
