Implementation of the International Logistics Program at a United States Air Force Air Materiel Area.

Abstract

The International Logistics Program (ILP) consists of materiel, services and training, provided to eligible allies, as specified by the President and Congress. At the Air Materiel Area (AMA) level it is comprised of either Grant Aid and Military Assistance Service Funded Programs, which are furnished without charge, or of Foreign Military Sales, for which countries pay with hard currency. Although it is the objective of the thesis to describe military assistance and sales management and logistic operations at the AMA level, these operations are viewed from an overall perspective, since the AMA ILP functions are, an implementing arm of United States foreign policy objectives.
