Thermophysical Properties of ATJS Graphite.

Abstract

The thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of ATJS graphite were measured from 1300 to 2550 K in the across-grain direction. This supplements earlier measurements in the with-grain direction. The use of a computer-based data acquisition system significantly increased both the accuracy and precision of the measurements. The hemispherical total emittance and normal spectral emittance (0.65 micometers) were also measured and the changes caused by oxidation were noted. It was found that both emittances increased upon oxidation. It was also noted that the normal spectral emittance increased upon long term storage. (Author)
