Rare Earth Ion-Ion Interactions in Crystals.

Abstract

Spectroscopic techniques have been used to study the interaction between rare earth ions in crystals. Collective phenomena, exciton and magnon distributions, and energy transfer were studied. The multiphonon relaxation rates of rare earth ions in YVO4, YAsO4, and YPO4 were also derermined. (Author)
