Short-Range Weather Forecasting: Recent Developments in Air Weather Service, Suggested Techniques.

Abstract

The report examines the capabilities of Air Weather Service detachments as concerns short-range terminal forecasting. Techniques are suggested for furthering the accuracy of these forecasts and a case study using the suggested techniques is presented as guidance for the forecaster in the field. An AWS Test Form No. 52 is discussed and its practical applications are indicated. (Author)
